An 18-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of rape and three counts of sodomy after allegedly meeting two teenagers online, then meeting them in person and sexually assaulting them, Fairfax County police said.
The police said they were contacted in July by a juvenile who had been assaulted that month by a man they had met online. Investigators found the man used a false identity on a social media platform and convinced the juvenile to send him photos. The man then coerced the juvenile to meet him in person, police said, and committed the assault. While investigating the case, the police found a second victim who also said they had been attacked in July, Fairfax police Lt. Erica Webb said, and were able to identify a suspect.
Police obtained charges against Malachi Morgan Thomas, who was arrested Thursday and ordered held without bond in the Fairfax jail, Webb said. Detectives found that Thomas used screen names such as “King Stannis,” “carlaaa33cx,” “Renly,” “the Golden Company,” “Lord Ceaser,” “Grand Kublai Khan” and “victorialuvss.” They asked that anyone who had contact with Thomas call police at 703-246-7800, option 3.
